I've been shamed.
My dear friends had to run an intervention about my blogging. In all fairness, I did say in my first blog that it would be amazing if I kept up with this...
So, in honor of my college friends that I got to see tonight, I'm reflecting on friendships.
In high school I had some good friends. We had fun together, participated in common activities, and spent time together. Some people had catty fights that I tried to stay out of. Others were always loyal. I miss some of them and wonder how they are doing.
I college, however, I learned about a different kind of friend. Friends who really share your values. Friends who support and affirm you on a regular basis. Friends who are ridiculously FUN! I don't know if it's something about living away from home and how your college friends are your family for that time in life, or if it had more to do with the friends I chose, but I value the girls I hung out with in college more than I can say. I didn't have one particular best friend, but instead a group that was the best set of friends I could imagine. I miss them a lot and wish I kept up with them better. Tonight I saw three of my best college girlfriends, and it's amazing how comfortable it was whether I'd seen them last month or over a year ago.
Friendships now are a little different since I'm married and live with my best friend, but they're still important. I feel lucky to have a church home in which I've found many very good friends. They are women I can count on for prayers, help, advice, and of course, FUN! I'm glad to know all of them.
I hope that all my friends who read this will know how important you have been in my life!

yay!!! Im glad you are back! Golly, babies grown up fast, dont they! Ryland is so big already! It is so good to hear from you, and hopefully it wont be 6 more months until your next post! :o) What college friends did you see? I havent seen the "la casa" girls in way too long... We need to have a "la casa and friends" reunion! I agree that it is a wonderful blessing to get to live and spend the rest of your life with your best friend, but there is just something so special about that bond with old girlfreinds! I wouldnt trade what I have now for the world, and I dont necessarily want to be back at ACU, but I do miss it!
Glad to see you posting again! And it's good to hear that you had a happy reunion. Wish I could have joined in on it, too. We really were blessed with good friends in college, weren't we? It's nice to have those fun memories.
